Architecture and Photography

Arquitectura y Fotografía
Thursday, May 28, 2015 - 12:00pm

The goal of the conference is to foster an academic debate and an interdisciplinary
discussion on the issues involved on the relationship between
architecture and photography.
Modern architecture found in photography the ideal channel to portray the new modern imaginary and raise it, through its media spread and advertising, to the category of an icon and a symbol of a new way of dwelling. In parallel, photography saw architecture and modern cities as the subject and perfect setting to exercise that new way of seeing reality and of portraying a society in constant transformation. The V Symposium Architecture and Photography brings together four renowned speakers, the academic and professor Juan Bordes, the journalist Llàtzer Moix and the photographers Duccio Malagamba and Juan Rodríguez, whom will deal with questions relative to the documentation and collecting, the role and the challenges of the use of the image by the media, the range and manifestations of professional practice and the personal or artistic approach to the work of the architecture photographer.
